Happy Birthday Oakley! + Granola Biscuit Recipe

Who loves to spoil their dog more than you spoil yourself? ME!

Oakley is a F1 Golden Doodle and is the most SPOILED DOG EVER! I'm that annoying dog mom, but I'm okay with that because he's the new love of my life (sorry Josh). He has an Instagram, go follow him! @oakie_doodle

Oakley was 4 months old when we brought him home from Ohio. My mom, sister and I drove there to pick him up and on the way home, he literally didn't move. Who would have thought this would be a thing for the next couple weeks. As soon as you set him down on the ground, he would instantly put his head to the ground and NOT MOVE. It was cute, but I just wanted to play with him! I was a little worried he was going to be super boring lol but now, he thinks he owns the house and is super adventurous and curious!

His birthday was April 8th and you better believe I took a first birthday photo shoot HA!

Here's a yummy (at least I can imagine they would be yummy to dogs) dog treat recipe to try at home! Oakley LOVES THESE.

GRANOLA BISCUITS

Here's a great dog treat recipe I found from a dog recipe book called The Good Treats Cookbook for Dogs.

What you'll need:

- 1.5 cups water

- 2 tbsp. canola oil (or any oil, I used olive)

- 2 eggs, slightly beaten

- 1 cup granola (just plain granola, no raisins, honey, etc.)

- 4.5 cups whole wheat flour

- 1 cup whole rolled oats

What to do:

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees

2. Combine water, oil, and eggs in a large bowl

3. Add the dry ingredients to the water mixture and mix thoroughly until well blended

4. Roll out dough about 1/4-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface (I put wax paper down first, then flour). The dough will be pretty tough, FYI.

5. My favorite part, use cookie cutters to cut the biscuits into fun shapes. I used a big and small dog bone and a squirrel cookie cutter. My parents dog is obsessed with squirrels so I made her some in that shape. You can do anything you want! Repeat rolling and cutting until all the dough is used up

6. On a greased baking sheet, place the biscuits and bake for 35 minutes. Then, turn off the oven and let them harden inside the oven for another 30 minutes

7. Cool on a rack before serving to your furry lover

Seriously, your dog will love these! This recipe makes A LOT of treats, so I gifted some to my parents dog and friends dog, they loved them, too!
